INTERNATIONAL WOMEN’S DAY
“Female inventors who changed our lives”
International Women’s day provides an important opportunity for teachers to educate students about gender equality. Our 6th grade students have celebrated this important day remembering and talking about important women from history. Let’s look back at some of the key inventions by women inventors that changed the world and make life easier.
El pasado miércoles 8 de marzo, se celebró el día Internacional de la mujer y en honor a este día de la mujer, desde el área de inglés en sexto de primaria, hemos echado la vista atrás y hemos querido rendir homenaje a aquellas mujeres que han contribuido con innumerables inventos a mejorar nuestras vidas en algunos casos y a salvarla en otros.
La lista es innumerable por lo que sólo nos hemos centrado en aquellos inventos que nos encontramos en nuestro día a día y que desconocíamos que habían sido inventados por mujeres.
Ángela Ruiz Robles, Bette Nesmih, Marie Curie, Hedy Lamarr, Mary Anderson, Letitia Geer, Patricia Bath, Josephine Cochrane, Marion Donovan, Bette Nesmith or Gertrude B. Elion son algunos nombres de esas extraordinarias mujeres a las que nuestro alumnado han tenido la oportunidad de investigar. Han aprendido sobre sus vidas, anécdotas, curiosidades y sobretodo sobre sus inventos para después disfrutarlo compartiéndolo con el resto de compañeros y compañeras.
